Mayor-elect Tack thanks residents
I'm truly honored to be your Mayor-elect. It is with deep gratitude I thank you - the voters of Lake Forest - for entrusting me with stewardship of the City for the next two years.
I promise to sustain the excellence in governance that you have come to expect. I promise to maintain the non-partisan ethos that allows our volunteer government to function at the highest level, and encourages all citizens with the desire and talent to serve when they are called. I promise to ensure that the concerns of all residents are considered equally.
I would like to thank everyone who has supported me for the past seven months. First, and foremost, my wife, Paula. She has tirelessly supported me and the Caucus Committee, and I am (as always) forever in her debt.
I would like to thank all of my supporters - family, friends, neighbors, co-workers, colleagues - the volunteers who selflessly and nobly helped our campaign. You contributed tirelessly the last seven months to help secure our success. You created and hosted events, you called and walked to talk with people across Lake Forest, you raised money, you provided testimonials and wrote articles, you created videos and ads, and we even had some fun while doing so. I am humbled by your generosity and the dedication and excellence of your work. Thank you.
As all of you know, the decision of the Caucus Committee to select me as their candidate, and re-nominate me when confronted with an unprecedented challenge, was not an easy one. I thank them for staying true to their commitment to run a merit-based selection process, and honor the responsibility given to them by the citizens of Lake Forest.
I would like to acknowledge the Beidlers for their generosity to the City, and Prue in particular for her service as alderman. I know how much work they have put into this and respect them for that effort.
It will be my priority to serve all citizens, in the best interest of the City. I will do all in my power to ensure all aspects of our government serve one purpose: your civic betterment.
We live in the best run, most beautiful, and most talent-laden community in the state of Illinois. I ask you to join me in rediscovering our sense of self, and commit not only to strengthening our bonds to each other, but to taking our City to greater heights.
Sincerely,
Randy
